Your Questions, Answered
-
What should I book?
If you’re unsure, book under karada (bodywork) and leave a note about what you’re experiencing. We can decide on the most supportive approach together when you arrive.
-
My approach blends a range of hands-on therapies rather than following one set style. It has been shaped by teachers and training in Zentai Shiatsu, Swedish and sports massage, fascial bodywork and physiotherapy.
Each session is adapted to your body, combining these influences to create an experience that can be both therapeutic and deeply restorative.
-
Chikara focuses on the muscular system using deep-tissue and sports massage techniques—ideal for training recovery, muscular tension and those who enjoy firmer pressure.
Kawa is a restorative, spa-like experience designed for full relaxation and receiving. Expect gentle, flowing touch to support rest and nervous-system regulation.
Karada is a functional bodywork session for pain, restriction or movement concerns. It may combine massage, cupping, joint mobilisation, stretching, breathwork and other techniques based on what your body needs.

Kansoma is located inside the Twenty Two Mokoia health and wellness building at 22 Mokoia Road, Birkenhead.
Look for Daily Dose Café and the Pilates studio. Enter through the main reception. If no one is there, continue down the arched walkway to the lobby at the end, opposite the water fountain, and take a seat. I’ll meet you there.
The nearby mall offers two hours of free parking and is approximately a two-minute walk away.

This depends on your body, goals and current symptoms.
For ongoing discomfort or tension or when preparing for an event, sessions closer together may be helpful, as the body responds well to rhythm and consistency.
For general maintenance and nervous-system support, every three to six weeks often works well.
-
Try to arrive hydrated and avoid eating a large meal immediately beforehand. Please also arrive fragrance-free where possible, helping us maintain a neutral space for everyone.
-
Wear comfortable clothing to arrive in. Depending on the session, bodywork may be performed over clothing or directly on the skin with appropriate draping. Your comfort, privacy and consent will always be respected.

Yes. The Kansoma Membership is designed for returning clients who value regular, consistent bodywork. It offers a more accessible way to receive ongoing care while continuing to build on the work we’ve already created together.
